Azerbaijan’s Labor Ministry comments on apartments provided to families of martyrs and war veterans 

Families of martyrs and war invalids have been provided with 200 apartments in a new residential complex, which was opened on May 2 in the Sabunchu district of Azerbaijan’s Baku with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, said Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, AzVision.az reports.

Ministry notes that at the ceremony of providing apartments, it was emphasized that after the 44-day war, on behalf of the President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Azerbaijani Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, a program of social support for the families of martyrs and war veterans is being implemented.

According to the ministry, a program for providing apartments and private houses for families of martyrs and war veterans has been expanded five times as one of the main directions of the social support program, which already covers 100,000 people who are provided with 166,000 services.

Ministry of Labor and Social Protection provided 626 apartments to the families of martyrs and war invalids in 2018, in 2019 - 934, which is 50 percent more than the previous year, and this figure increased by 70 percent in 2020, and amounted to 1,572 apartments/private houses.

This program was expanded five times last year compared to the previous three years, and 3,000 apartments and private houses were provided to citizens from this category of the population, the ministry noted
